New Area51 getting great shape!

After three and a half year Area51 skatepark had to close it’s doors last January. Now, seven months later the new Area51 skatepark starts to get shape at the splendid new location in Stijp S, the place where this years Globe BowlBash finals will shake earth. The last update from the hardworking skateboarders at Area51 skatepark:

In the meanwhile we have been granted the construction license for the necessary architectural adaptations of building SEU. This means that the activities in the building no longer (officially) are limited to only tidy up and preparing: the outlines of the new skatepark start to become visual. Also the characteristic forms of the Mu-bowl are again clearly recognizable. On our site you can see how these activities progress (last update 21-07 2006/Picture This, page 23). Since last week the „masterplan”is online. This gives to an impression of what we all plan to be building. (check YourVision) The expectation is that the skatepark will be open once again in the middle of September. About this you (shortly) receive new update….

For October and November the first large events are already in
preparation: The final of the international Globe BowlBash (13-15 October) and the final of the Dutch championship Skateboarding (4-5 november).
